May is Mental Health Awareness month. Teens today are more stressed, anxious, depressed, and lonely than ever, especially since being home all year due to Covid. We at Tigers News want to provide students and staff with tips to help when you are feeling stressed and overwhelmed. The first tip we will discuss is relaxation and mindfulness. Relaxation and Mindfulness
Relaxation and mindfulness are focusing on the here and now and helps you reduce stress. Relaxation and mindfulness help you pay attention more, helps you stay calm, helps you slow down, helps you gain self-control, and helps you get your tasks finished. Things you can do to practice relaxation and mindfulness are deep breathing, yoga, playing with a pet, taking a walk or just going outside.
